Biography |
Born in St. Catharines, Ontario, John graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering (1965) from the Royal Military College of Canada. He served in the Canadian Armed Forces until 1968 when he resigned his Commission at the rank of Captain. Subsequently, John obtained his MBA (1970) and PhD (1974) in business administration (finance) from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario. Between 1973 and 1997, John was a Professor of Finance at several Canadian universities (Concordia University, Brock University and University of Windsor) where he taught corporate finance and stock market investing. He continues as a Professor Emeritus at the University of Windsor. John has represented retail investors on the Toronto Stock Exchange's Investors and Issuer's Advisory Committee and has made several invited submissions to a variety of task forces sponsored by regulators of Canadian securities markets. |
